The Canadian government has rejected rumors that Kenyans can now travel to Canada to look for work.
This follows Kenya’s Foreign Minister Alfred Mutua’s declaration on Tuesday that Kenyans would now be eligible to live and work in Canada.
Mr Mutua, who was in the country on official business, stated that he met with Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship of Canada (IRCC) Sean Fraser and agreed on numerous migration prospects.
He stated that the process for anyone wishing to travel to Canada was simple, but required diligence.
“Disinformation is circulating which suggests that special programs are welcoming Kenyan immigrants. This is false, and the immigration programs referenced do not exist,” IRCC said in a statement.
Kenyans should consult the country’s immigration website for factual information on how to move to Canada, according to the IRCC.
