The National Population Commission (NPC) has postponed a training session for Local Government enumerators and supervisors working on the 2023 national population census.
The program, which was supposed to start on Thursday, April 13, has been pushed back indefinitely.
Dr. Isiaka Yahaya, the Commission’s Director of Public Affairs, made the announcement on Wednesday via the Commission’s official Twitter feed.
He informed Nigerians that the Commission is still committed to completing a legitimate and acceptable population and housing census, and that preparations were in full swing.
He stated that the new date for LGA level supervisor and enumerator training will be notified to the public in due course.
The 2023 population census is still slated to take place from May 3 to 5, 2023, as the NPC has finished training its data managers and is ready for Nigeria’s first census in 17 years.
