Chris Mba, a veteran Nigerian pop performer who was suffering from heart problems, has died.
The artiste, who was born in Abia State, died on Wednesday at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH.
Michael Odiong, the General Manager of Premier Music, confirmed his death on Thursday in a post, saying the musician died on Wednesday night of heart problems.

In 2019, a journalist, Azuka Jebose, revealed in a Facebook post that the musician sent him a distress message on WhatsApp asking for urgent financial aid to pay for his hospital treatment at LUTH.
He quoted him, saying, “Jebose this is a serious health challenge for me. Please, my brother, help me. We buy drugs and the hospital bed costs N50,000 daily.”
Chris Mba was well known in the 1980s for his characteristic Jerry curl and singles like as “Funky Situation,” “Love Everlasting,” “Baby Don’t Cry,” and “Making My Way.”
